Scenes fit for the theatre played out when the Presidential Guard Brigade, PGB tussled it out with Libyan president Col. Muammar Gadaffi's security detail before the opening ceremony. The PGB was strictly enforcing the rule that only Presidents and their aides and the head of protocol are allowed to proceed to the presidential entrance. But this did not go down well Gaddafi's security who were determined to flex their muscles over this rule.

Hillary Clinton security detail All day Saturday was a headache for Kenya's VIP security personnel, as they watched Clinton's security detail take over the country's busiest airport, highways and hotels, in order to guard the Secretary of State.In what looked like a carefully coordinated orchestra; dogs, machine guns, armored vehicles and close to 100 security agents, made sure Clinton was the most guarded woman in the continent.Clinton's security detail knows little, or nothing about our highway code.
The Chief of Defence Forces General Katumba Wamala says the evidence before them is inconclusive on whether a man who is being held in custody in Tanzania, is Allied Democratic Forces rebel leader is Jamil Mukulu. However reliable security sources have confirmed the identity of the rebel leader who was captured last week. Mukulu has been on Interpol’s red notice, the closest instrument to an international arrest warrant in use today. Gen. Katumba says Interpol Uganda will be traveling to Tanzania to further establish this man’s status. Sources privy to the matter but who preferred anonymity told NTV that Mukulu’s relative was sent to Tanzania and confirmed his identity. The land is dry around Katikati village in northern Tanzania and water is scarce. The Maasai here travel up to 100 kilometres a day searching for water, and it's a dangerous journey. But now they know that there is water - 180 meters under their feet. The Tanzanian Government, with support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Belgian Fund for Food Security, drilled a borehole, giving the Maasai access to clean water, and a chance to settle in their own community. To combat harvest waste and its negative economic effects, Amanda Rees will travel to Tanzania this summer to lead training workshops on how to build and operate solar dryer units, which will help farmers dehydrate and preserve otherwise perishable produce. Amanda will partner with local agricultural organizations to lead the workshops in at least three different locations over a 10-week period. Each workshop will demonstrate how to build solar dryers out of locally available materials, show the farmers how to prepare and use the units, and then teach them how to properly store and market their dried produce. These farmers will have the resources to preserve more of their harvest, which will in turn provide more nutritious food options for the community during the off-season. At least 45 ...
