http://kenyastockholm.com @makozewe There are some malicious rumours circulating that Raila odinga has flown to Tanzania in preparation for his swearing in ceremony as the duly elected President of the Republic of Kenya. Other rumours also had it that Raila had been put under house arrest by the Jubilee government to prevent him from travelling abroad for any swearing in ceremony. I have decided to address the issue because the rumours are growing. Other sources say that Raila will address the Nation on Monday. I am not an official spokesperson for Raila Odinga or NASA for that matter but I can say this. One, Raila Odinga cannot be put under house arrest by Jubilee and the news fails to come out. The country is already tense with anarchy and chaos ruling in many towns and cities. The fake Jubilee government cannot therefore risk further escalation by putting Raila Odinga under house arrest. Secondly, the issue as to whether or not Raila has flown out of the country came about after he failed to attend the Saturday NASA Press conference where Johnstone Muthama and James Orengo addressed the media. Foreign Journalists openly wondered why Raila was not at the Press Conference to calm his supporters. One thing is certain. The Journalists want Raila to surface so that they can ask him questions about violence then twist the answers to mean that Raila had refused to calm his supporters and NASA knows this. Raila has right to appear or not appear at Press conferences because the NASA principles are effective enough to handle journalists. Rumours and speculation that Raila may have left the country are therefore unfounded. Whoever is spreading these rumours should stop because they are not helping the country. Kenya is just undergoing through a rigged election and the best the country needs right now is a strategy from NASA on the way forward, not rumours. Those who want Raila to come out and stop the anarchy should know that Raila did not instruct his supporters to start violence. He has himself said that he has no control over them. For now, the best is for rumour mongers to leave Raila alone.
